The PaRC saved my life. All one needs to do is shut one's mouth and open one's ears and do what they tell you to do. This is not a luxury hotel or a vacation. It 's work! And it works.

I spent 2 months at the PaRC. I have mixed feelings about my experience there. I believe everyone is on their own level when they decide to enter a place like the PaRC. Some people are in more need of help than others and some people are just lost looking for direction. Me personally, I was lost and looking for direction, I had a good grip on what my emotional status was and how to cope with things, I just had difficulties actually manifesting those. The PaRC helped me manage those feelings and manifest them into positive actions. The AA program that they have, I feel is like every other AA program out there, that it is semi cultish, almost a religion that works for some people and not for others. It did not work for me, but what doesn't work for me, doesn't necessarily mean that it will not work for someone else. I know people that have gone through the program and have come out very successfully. Overall, I would completely recommend this place to someone who's in need of guidance and direction.

Can't say enough good things about this place! It's tough and takes work, but if you truly do what's expected of you, and want to change, it's worth it! The staff is caring and professional. They give you means to change your life. They tell you to exercise and provide a workout room, walking paths, walks in the neighborhood, a basketball court. if they say change your diet, they have fruit or a salad bar and low fat options at every meal. They say to pray and meditate, and have a nondenominational service once a week, two chapels, and huge garden with a pond. They provide weekly support groups for a year after you leave.

In reading the reviews it becomes extremely apparent the the damage alcohol and drug addiction rains down on people. To include our friends and families. To hear a family member complain that they didn't have immediate access to his father/mother/sister/brother, etc clearly shows that they have no idea how the program works. They too may have been programmed by the addicted to expect everything they want, when they want it! Life just doesn't happen that way. There there are the alcoholics and addicts that complain about the "lack of care and attention" they receive while in treatment. The translation is: "the people at the PaRC didn't buy into my manipulating BS like I've trained everyone else around me to". What he/she didn't realize is that YOUR actions and plans are what brought you to rehab anyway. Your thinking is flawed and needs new (clean and sober) perspectives. One can almost accurately guess who made it through the PaRC successfully and is now living a better life simply by the tone and appreciation displayed in their reviews. Conversely those with complaints are still playing the victim and are likely deeper into their own mess these days. Very sad. The program is very simple but you do have to get engaged and do your part. If one is courageous enough to do that, he/she can live a life far greater than he/she could ever imagine! I highly recommend the PaRC. they saved my life!

I have had a nearly perfect experience at PaRC. Nearly everyone from doctor to custodian was amazing. treatment plan was stellar. food was great. only one issue wherein a counselor dropped the ball on visitation and some of us weren't able to see our families for one visitation day as other families were. some of these folks have made a lifelong impression on me.

The business side of the facility is a train-wreck. Good luck getting a straight answer from them. If you call, they will interrupt you before you can finish your question, hijack the conversation, and start dunning you for money -- before you've even received an invoice. If you speak up to object, they will threaten to revoke payment terms, say that *you* are being rude, and hang up on you. Other than their unscrupulous business office, the PaRC is a wonderful place. You must self-pay or have good insurance to be admitted. One really needs to count their blessings if they are admitted to the PaRC. The clinical side of the facility is top-notch -- caring and effective.

Be prepared not to speak to your loved ones for 7 days. Trust the program and go to ALL of the classes and meetings. It's a lot of driving as I live an hour away but I have learned so much. Take all of their advice whether you like it or not. They are trained and know what they are doing.

Upon admission be prepared not to be able to use the phone for 3days. It's for your benefit as well as your families. You'll see negative reviews however if your ready & lean into it, you'll be amazed at the work you can do! I was on the Pain Recovery Unit 4yrs ago. Best place, decision I've ever made! Compared to West Springs in Richmond... NONE! The PaRC takes pride in caring for you! The food is out of this world! Excellent addiction doctors & kind, empathetic nurses. They don't lock you in! So many activities you don't have time to think. This place saved my life!

The PaRC was a great place . And it was the beginning, I believe the necessary beginning of treatment. The only person that can make themselves better is the person suffering. It would be great if you could go into a facility and 30 days later you are all fixed. The truth of the matter is the patient is the one that has to do the work (and the most well intended supporting family more than likely has to change their behavior). And the patient, even after 30 days may not be ready to begin their recovery or need more assistance. Depending on the patient that can take any number of different directions. They do have a psychiatrist on staff that can check for dual diagnosis (mental health and substance abuse/addiction). EXCELLENT PLACE!
